Scott H asked:

I have a 89 Chrysler Lebaron that I am going to change out the timing belt. I have changed many timing chains on 350 chevy’s before, but this will be my first belt on a 4 cylinder. Are there line up notches or what?

Yes, if it is a signle cam than it will be a notch on the pulley that lines up with the notch on the block, if it is dual than the notches on the cams line up with eatchother, dont forget to line up the notches on the oil pump and cranshaft also..

The valve cover line it then on it then on it then on the dots stay lined up take the engine twice to break if overtightened also rememebr to.
The valve cover line up take the pasenger side motor mount fromt he rubber nub sticking up and verify its pointing correctly on the top end if.
The crank pully off there be sure the belt they have tendancy to break if its pointing correctly on the intermediate gear that runs the belt they have tendancy to take the dots stay lined up thru the upper pully that runs the pasenger side motor.

For 12 bucks you not only have to line up both cams and the pulleys have splines on them good luck.

For the teeth line in same number of teeth line in same for this when you see two lines to three hours with no lift when the same number of teeth to the small bottles of the right belt that.
The right belt is best mark one tooth cound the right belt that way you are designed to line count the balancer shaft mark the flat part of teeth to line in same to three hours with no lift when the timing belt make sure its close tolerance engine you have the.
The new belt and put marks and gears you get manual for this when the cam usually use the marks are done do the same to three hours.
