does the belt in 2006-07 Chrysler minivans come off in a few inches of water?

I have a 1998 Chrysler minivan, and if I ever drive through about 4 inches of water, the belt comes off. Someone told me yesterday that this doesn’t happen on newer models. Is this true?

They simply modified the design by changing the pulley on on the newer ones and even a putting a shield to block the water but more then likely the pulley’s groove is deeper so that the belt doesn’t come off so easily anymore.

You could make up some kind of shield or use one off another vehicle or have a machine shop make one up for you etc.

Hope that helps and best of luck.
